Gee, thanks! That hit the spot. Great to see you all looking so happy and enjoying life. Eyerus makes a great witch and a spooky monster. Seems like she's adjusting to our traditions without a hitch! I was just saying to Drew that when T gets home, we'll have to plan a girls' weekend, the four of us... XOXO
Ashenafi ("Ash") was born on or around 9/10/2006 in Ethiopia. His birth mother approached the Gladney Center for Adoption to inquire about finding him a home. After going through the government required procedures she put him up for adoption. Ash first entered a state run orphanage but was quickly placed into the Gladney foster home. On January 26, 2007, almost immediately after our paper work was finalized, Gladney contacted us and introduced us to Ashenafi. We were smitten. Our court date was set for 3/6/2007 and we travelled to Ethiopia on 3/22/2007 to pick up Baby Ash. Our son's full name is Martin Ashenafi Brophy, named after our good friend Martin Wortley, who was taken from us five years before Ash's birth, on 9/11/2001.
When were in Ethiopia picking up Ash, we met Eyerusalem Kaye Demoz at the Kechene orphanage in Addis Ababa. We fell in love instantly. We proceeded with another adoption and brought her home on Christmas Day 2007.
Can you imagine two luckier people than us? Our "Irish twins" were delivered to us 9 months apart.
